Force Urbania is worth the premium for corporate groups or families with elderly parents and young children — the low-floor entry, wider cabin, and individual AC vents make it significantly more comfortable for long days on the road. For pure pilgrimage groups where cost-per-head matters more than cabin refinement, tempo traveller is the sensible choice.

What’s Included in the Tempo Traveller Fare — and What Isn’t

The biggest source of disputes at trip-end is charges that weren’t discussed upfront. Here’s the clear breakdown:

Always Included in the Quoted Rate

• Vehicle with full fuel for the trip
• Experienced driver familiar with Varanasi city roads, ghat approach lanes, and outstation highways
• AC operation throughout the trip
• Music system (most vehicles)
• Driver’s meals and stay during outstation trips (operator’s responsibility)

Always Charged Separately at Actuals

• Driver allowance (bhatta): ₹300 per day for local trips, ₹600 per day for outstation trips
• Toll tax: Charged at actual toll gate amounts for the specific route
• Parking fees: At temples, ghats, and tourist spots — typically ₹30–₹100 per stop
• Night charges: ₹300 per night if the vehicle is used or stationed after 9 PM

Ask every operator for the complete cost — base fare plus toll plus driver allowance plus night charges if applicable. A quoted “₹3,000” can legitimately become ₹3,900 to ₹4,200 with these additions. Booking Tips from a Varanasi Tour Operator — What I’ve Learned Running These Routes

1. Count Your Actual Passengers — Not the Ticket Count

5. Departure Before 7 AM for Ayodhya Same-Day Trips

Varanasi to Ayodhya is 210 km. If you want to reach Ram Mandir by 10–11 AM for morning darshan and return to Varanasi by evening, departure at 5:30–6:00 AM is ideal. Departure at 8 AM means reaching Ayodhya by noon, cutting darshan time short.
